Trustmark Companies Names Dan Simpson as Chief Information Officer

Dan Simpson, 53, joined Trustmark Companies on September 6 as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. The announcement was made by Joseph L. Pray, President and Chief Operating Officer of Lake Forest, Illinois-based insurer, benefits administrator and management of health services provider.

Before Trustmark, Simpson served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Physicians Mutual Insurance Co. in Omaha, Neb. For the past 10 years, he was responsible for all aspects of information technology to the company, including strategy, architecture and design.Before physicians mutual, he spent 12 years at Sterling Software in positions of increasing responsibility, starting in 2000 as Vice President, Finance and Operations.

"This is the branding of confidence to help increase competitive differentiation and become more outward looking across the organization," said Pray. "Dan's experience in conducting innovative solutions and technology will Trustmark companies and in achieving our goals."

Simpson holds a BA in psychology and biology / chemistry and an MBA from the University of Nebraska.In addition, he received a Master of Education in computer technology from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts
