Sept. 24 Open Line

As a long-term customer of Finch Automotive, I will most heartily disagree with the malcontent. I’ve always been well-treated, and they stand by their work. I’ve been informed and consulted on any problems encountered before work was done, given a loaner vehicle as a courtesy, and, on that rare occasion, received follow-up service on repairs without charge. Too bad you left a good shop. I was shocked and appalled by the North parents at Wednesday’s school board meeting. I have attended nearly all the meetings concerning the facilities. I am in favor of keeping all the schools open. I was very saddened by comments made by North parents. All they did was bad mouth Lincoln School. This is unacceptable. When people from Washington and Franklin were fighting for their neighborhood schools they talked about having beautiful historic buildings. A question for the North parents who spoke at the Wednesday board meeting: Do you object to your child attending Lincoln because of test scores, or because of the racial dynamics of Lincoln? The fact of the matter is that you came off very poorly with your “well written speeches.” I am proud to have a child who goes to Lincoln. Just for your information, she scores in the ninetieth percentile thanks to the hardworking and dedicated teachers at that school. Where’s the lefties’ stand on Gungate? We have more than 200 deaths attributed to this operation and an ATF agent, Hope MacAllister, on tape saying she thought the ATF needed to dig up dirt on a U.S. senator to stop him from investigating the ATF. At some point we all — left, right, and center — need to recognize when the inmates have taken over the asylum. We can’t sweep this under the rug, a full investigation is warranted. Since there are no rich Democrats and only rich Republicans, then they are the ones taking care of the poor, sick and disabled, and give to charities. So that would make the Republicans taking care of the Democrats. Come on Democrats, admit it, you want a tax increase so you can get a raise. I guess that is why only Republicans make over $250,000 a year, they work for it. And the Democrats sit at home generation after generation and have us mail a check to them. “You Republicans say you’re religious, well in my opinion, that type of religion is not going to get you into heaven. God wants you to take care of your brother, not let them go homeless and starve. If that’s your religion, then you are not praying to the same God as I am.” I am a Christian and, most of the time, vote Republican. I also probably give more to help those who do not have than most, but my beliefs are based upon all of the Bible and not just the ones that fit anyone’s agenda. The Bible says if you do not work you should not eat. It also says that someone that will not take care of their family is worse than an infidel. When we, as individuals or a nation, give more incentives not to work and provide for self and family then we are not helping anyone except our own consciousness. The verses that talk about selling all and giving to those that have not is taken out of context, just as many verses are to fit political ideas and agendas. I hear the Republicans passed a bill last night to help the disaster victims. That’s good. What’s not so good is how they got the money. They cut it from the energy bill. I guess they want us to have to continue to buy our oil from foreign nations and not develop our own energy through solar energy. Lets you know who they are in bed with, big oil and big business. Now we have a bombing in Michigan that is similar to what the Muslim terrorists do in foreign countries. Don’t you think it’s time we shut off aide to those other countries, and look for the people who are causing the problems here and get them out. They will never be Americans, I don’t care if they were born and raised here. They are not conditioned like Americans, they believe in the Muslim brotherhood and nothing or no amount of money will buy their allegiance. I can see you complaining about your husband not getting pain meds on schedule at Passavant. But really, no pitcher of water for six hours? Family can get that for him. No bath in three days? I would wash my wife while in the hospital. I am right-handed and I can use remotes or bed controls with either hand. You are reaching here. Sounds like your husband can use a better wife, as well as a better hospital. I came through Ashland and gas was $3.42. In Virginia it was $3.59. I see you did not support your local doctor and now he is gone. I heard through the grapevine you may lose a major business. You are paying people $1,000 to move there. Your school is in bad shape and not meeting state goals. These are signs of a dying town. May you rest in peace. I have a question for the Democrats. The Democratic Party is supported by unions, hard working, highly skilled and highly paid for what they do, and I have no problem with that. They get out of bed every day and go to work. Why is the other half of your party, the lifelong welfare people, the deadbeats, the people that suck the life out of our society and do nothing vote for the same party? There are over 250,000 deaths each year by nurses giving the wrong medications in hospitals to their patients. Maybe if they weren’t texting or talking on their cellphones and had been paying attention to their patient, and their job, those patients who are relying on and at the mercy of these rude nurses, would still be alive and with us. Hope your text message was worth them losing their life to your negligence. Any nurse who texts while on the job should be fired and lose their license for good, it’s just as serious as being drunk on the job. I have had 12 surgeries and been in the emergency room in Springfield hospitals at least six times and never has one of the nurses had a cellphone on or were they texting near patients. Maybe they do it on their breaks but not while working the floors or emergency room. If this goes on at Passavant I’d definitely not go there for anything. Remember folks, it didn’t get that infamous name for nothing “Passaway Hospital.” Oh, and another thing Batchtown, regarding your dispatchers that are gone and 911. When you call 911, give your 911 address, not the address that was used 50 years ago. They have these things called computers now and they can Google your address or go to maps.com and find your location. If I have the correct address I can find where you are and how to get there within a minute and I am not law enforcement either. Cass County only has a population of what 15,000 and counties like Peoria, Tazewell, and Sangamon, to name a few, have just one 911 system and have populations of well over 100,000 and they do a great job. Concerning the wages earned by American workers and the presence of at least 12 million illegal immigrants in the country and the desire of the Open Borders advocates to admit millions of their relatives via chain migration: You can violate the law of supply and demand for a while but when it begins to operate again it will operate with full force. You can no more ignore the law of supply and demand than you can ignore the law of gravity. Ignoring either brings the same terrible results. In today’s online Open Line, someone wrote a question in about there being no pictures in of the Little Miss South Jacksonville. Well, there are a lot of us out here who could (sic) care less about the South Jacksonville celebration and could (sic) care even less about Little Miss South Jacksonville. So, I don’t care if there’s a picture or not. Friday morning 7 o’clock, day before Cruise Night, there are ten trailers parked in Community Park waiting on Cruise Night. Most of them are automobile trailers and are parked parallel to Morton, some with areas roped off that are 25 feet on either side. This should not be allowed. What would be better would be if the park roped off 15 feet sections and rented them to people who wanted to stay there. Also, set up Port-A-Potties for the people so they wouldn’t be going into the businesses just to use the facilities. Last years, a business owner told me he had 120 people lined up to use the rest room, which provides opportunities for shoplifting.

Sept. 24 Open Line

The small income raise that the American people have gotten over the past few years has been eaten up by the price of health insurance going up. Makes you wonder why the Republicans want to keep things the way they are. I don't understand.
